This means that we are EXEMPT from the FAA's Remote ID rules slated to go into effect on September 16th, 2023 while flying at our field at Kingston Downs.
You DO NOT need to equip your aircraft  with remote ID devices to fly at                    Kingston Downs Field.

AMA TAG Grant

Take Off & Grow

In the fall of 2023, BCMA was awarded a $1000 TAG (Take off and Grow) grant to partner with a local middle school STEM program by the AMA!!! Many thanks to the AMA and to District V leadership at the AMA for making this happen.

Looking forward to helping out a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) middle school group design, source materials, build, and ultimately fly a model aircraft (3 actually per semester) for the 2023/24 school year. Club members will mentor the students weekly as they move from building to flying! The goal of the AMA’s TAG program is to engage a live for aviation and modeling within the local community. BCMA is thankful for this partnership with a AMA and our local middle school.

As students progress, we'll be posting updates and photos on the Community Outreach page HERE.

Mike Viscosi, BCMA VP, on the resumption of the Woodland MS STEM project of building a couple of kits in the class... the plan is they fly them both in May at the field.  They are building a PT-40 and a PT-60, both which will be electric.

This is a GREAT opportunity for some of you club master builders to "give back"..... Imagine if you had this kind of opportunity in school.... It would have been awesome.

Many thanks to Mike and Richard LeClaire, who have invested countless hours into this project...
